David loved music and always had a tune to hum. He had a beautiful singing voice and sang in the Perkins School for the Blind choir. His favorite band was the Backstreet Boys.

Even when battling his most intense challenges, Big D’s positive attitude and motivation never suffered. Dave would wear his John Cena “Never Give Up” t-shirt, hat and wristbands to chemotherapy appointments. He would stop every nurse and doctor at Dana Farber to show off his Special Olympic Rings tattoo.

Everyone who had the fortune to know him is much richer for the experience. He was the personification of determination. His spirit was indomitable; the joy he felt was genuine and untarnished. David was witty, funny, and had a special charm that continues to inspire everyone he has ever met. Rest in Peace Big D.
